There's a pot of beef barley soup on the stove, it's raining & the temp is almost 70. Today is going to be the last warm day of the week with the daytime temps only in the low 60's. Fall is setting in quickly this year & I noticed on a trip to town a few days ago that the trees are already changing. Halloween will be here very soon. Chicken Chick has her costume all ready to go. We are ready for winter.
There is only one thing that we didn't get done this year. We lost our chicken's to wild dogs & we didn't get the flock started again. We'll do in the spring maybe with baby chicks from our local feed store. They have chick days every year. Other than that we pretty much got all the yearly chores completed. There shouldn't be too much more mowing to be done. Now I will be able to get back to my winter knitting. I only work on it in the cold weather. I'd sure like to get the shawl done.
By January I will be deep into planning the garden & getting things started, but until then I am going to enjoy the upcoming holidays & being inside.
